Bruce Springsteen has directly refuted Forbes' estimate of his $1.1 billion net worth, stating "I'm not a billionaire... they got that real wrong." While Forbes based their calculation on his $500 million catalog sale to Sony, successful world tours, and extensive discography of 21 studio albums that sold over 140 million copies globally, Springsteen explains he has invested significantly in both personal expenditures and his band.
The Boss emphasizes that he compensates the E Street Band generously, stating "I pay them a tremendous amount of money." He prioritizes fair compensation and maintaining strong relationships with his band members, viewing this as essential to their continued success.
Despite his successful career spanning six decades, including a $380 million revenue-generating world tour in 2023 and 236 sold-out Broadway performances, Springsteen maintains that Forbes' billionaire estimation is inaccurate. He acknowledges spending substantially on "superfluous things" while enjoying the fruits of his decades-long career.
A biopic about Springsteen's life, starring Jeremy Allen White, is scheduled for release in 2025.
