The announcement came through Instagram, featuring a dramatic desert nightscape with illuminated "COWBOY CARTER TOUR" signage, followed by a portrait of the artist sporting bleached-blonde braids and red lipstick.
The tour reveal was initially scheduled for January 14, but was delayed due to Los Angeles wildfires. Beyoncé responded to the crisis by donating $2.5 million to local relief funds through her BeyGood Foundation.
Fans got their first taste of the new material during her Christmas Day Halftime NFL performance in Houston, where she performed several tracks from Cowboy Carter, including:
- "Texas Hold 'Em"
- "16 Carriages"
- "Sweet Honey Buckiin'" (featuring Shaboozey)
- "Levii's Jeans" (featuring Post Malone)
- Covers of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" and The Beatles' "Blackbird"
The tour announcement comes as Beyoncé leads the 2025 Grammy nominations with 11 nods, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Country Solo Performance. While she holds the record for most Grammy wins (32), she has yet to secure an Album of the Year award.
