The series debuts with Raye performing at London's Air Studios alongside a 20-piece band, scheduled to release on November 22nd. The performance was specifically recorded for the Vision Pro headset, offering viewers an immersive front-row experience through Apple's Immersive Video technology.
Apple Music subscribers will also have access to exclusive Concert for One tracks, including Raye's performances of "Genesis" and "Escapism," featuring spatial audio enhancement.
This launch follows Apple's recent Vision Pro collaboration with The Weeknd on "Open Hearts," demonstrating the company's commitment to creating exclusive immersive content for their $3,499 headset. With Vision Pro sales projected at 370,000 units for Q1-Q3 2024, making the content available on Apple Music significantly expands its potential audience.
While Apple hasn't announced future artists for the series, the timing aligns with their upcoming Apple Music-sponsored Halftime Show, suggesting more high-profile performances may be in development for 2024.
The initiative represents a strategic move in the streaming market, where platforms increasingly focus on exclusive content to differentiate their offerings. This trend is evident in recent projects like Spotify's Weezer performance and Amazon Music's exclusive Laufey holiday track "Christmas Magic."
