AllTrack Makes History: First US PRO to Launch Mechanical Rights Division
AllTrack, America's fifth performing rights organization (PRO), has launched a mechanical rights division, becoming the first US PRO to offer integrated performance and mechanical rights collection services through a single platform.

This groundbreaking development allows music creators and publishers to manage both performance and mechanical royalties in one place. While performance royalties compensate rightsholders when songs are performed live or played on-demand, mechanical royalties are generated from:
- On-demand streaming
- Digital applications
- Downloads
- Physical products (CDs, vinyl records)
- Other copyright-protected uses
AllTrack now collects mechanical royalties globally through direct relationships and international sister societies. This addresses a significant industry challenge where independent US creators previously needed multiple platforms to collect their global mechanical royalties, with some royalty types being completely inaccessible to truly independent artists.
The new service enables rightsholders to collect all forms of worldwide mechanical royalties through a single platform, including:
- Streaming royalties
- Download royalties
- Physical product royalties
- Lyrics usage
- Other copyright-protected uses
CEO Hayden Bower emphasized that mechanical rights typically represent a significant portion of a music creator's published income. This expansion follows AllTrack's recent acceptance into CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers) and their pioneering integration with TIDAL streaming service.
