This tour demonstrates the enduring popularity of legacy rock acts, joining other successful ventures like the Eagles' extended Sphere residency. The announcement comes amid a trend of classic bands finding innovative ways to connect with fans, including KISS's upcoming avatar shows (planned for 2027) and ABBA Voyage's successful virtual concerts, which generated nearly $140 million in 2023 revenue.

For AC/DC, this tour marks a significant return to North American stadiums, with lead guitarist Angus Young celebrating his 70th birthday just before the tour begins. The band continues to maintain their status as one of rock's most enduring and influential acts, more than 50 years after their formation.
