AccuRadio to Pay SoundExchange $210K Monthly in Interim Royalty Settlement During Ongoing Lawsuit
SoundExchange and AccuRadio have reached a temporary payment agreement as their licensing dispute continues in court. Under the agreement, AccuRadio will pay SoundExchange $210,000 monthly until a final judgment is reached.

Key points of the agreement:
- AccuRadio must make monthly payments of $210,000 starting immediately
- SoundExchange has withdrawn its preliminary injunction motion
- Payment amounts can be adjusted based on AccuRadio's performance numbers
- AccuRadio will receive credit for all payments against final liability
- SoundExchange maintains the right to refile injunction if payments are missed
The agreement follows SoundExchange's July lawsuit alleging AccuRadio failed to pay required royalties. AccuRadio had called the lawsuit "a complete surprise."
The payment amount can be modified without court approval if both parties agree in writing, based on:
- AccuRadio's average monthly performance numbers
- Current regulatory rates for non-subscription transmissions
This case runs parallel to SoundExchange's separate ongoing royalty dispute with SiriusXM, which includes counterclaims from the satellite radio provider.
